Our Mission
For over three decades, The Magbit Foundation, founded by leaders of the Los Angeles Jewish community, has been committed to fostering the future through education and support in times of need. Tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, our foundation focuses on two key areas: providing aid in times of crisis and supporting higher education.
We believe in empowering students in Israel and the United States by providing them with the financial means to attain higher education. Each year, we offer hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans and scholarships to deserving and qualified students. These funds are carefully allocated by our dedicated volunteer student loan committee. The loans are repaid by the students, creating a cycle that allows the repaid funds to support a new cohort of students. This sustainable model ensures that every dollar donated continues to benefit generations of students.
Our commitment extends beyond education to immediate crisis response. In light of the recent tragic events on October 7th, where Israeli civilians were subjected to inhumane atrocities, we have initiated the “Israel at War” campaign. We are dedicating 100% of all proceeds from this campaign to provide direct support through humanitarian aid to Israelis in need, security forces, disabled veterans, medical organizations, mental care services, educational programs, and families affected by the attacks. This initiative underscores our dedication to protecting our shared homeland, Israel, and our shared future.
We invite you to join us in these efforts, whether by supporting educational empowerment or providing critical aid in times of unprecedented peril.
To date, over 15,000 qualified students throughout Israel and the United States have received loans or scholarships from Magbit, in furtherance of this mission.
STUDENTS IN ISRAEL NEED OUR HELP
In Israel, military service is compulsory, meaning that every individual must serve in the military upon graduating from high school. After their service, many do not have the financial means to pursue higher education, and are forced to work in order to cover the costs of their basic needs.
Therefore, some of Israel’s brightest minds – the next generation of leaders, innovators, trailblazers, and creators -- may never get the opportunity to reach their full potential. We have a duty to serve those who have bravely served their country and our community, by ensuring that the best educational opportunities are available to them. Their duty is to serve and defend our homeland and its future, our duty is to invest in theirs.
It is with your suppport that we are able to continue our worthy and worthwhile mission. Whose future will you sponsor today?

Israel at War Campaign
The Magbit Foundation: Strengthening Support for Israel in Times of Need
In these challenging times, the Magbit Foundation reaffirms its commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those impacted by the adversities facing Israel. Our comprehensive campaign, "Israel at War," alongside the anticipation of the generosity to be showcased at the upcoming 2024 Magbit Gala, has gathered momentum in providing essential aid across several fronts. We are channeling 100% of all proceeds to empower and uplift the Israeli community through verified and impactful initiatives:
Adopting Families and Supporting Heroes
In the wake of the October 7th attacks, our focused efforts include direct support to the families bereaved and shattered. Going beyond temporary aid, we are adopting widows and orphans, pledging sustained support for a year or more, ensuring they have the means to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Similarly, our dedication extends to the valiant security forces and disabled veterans, offering tailored programs to aid their recovery and reintegration into society.
Humanitarian and Vocational Aid
Recognizing the multifaceted nature of need, we are intensifying our humanitarian outreach to Israelis in distress. Our initiatives now span from immediate relief to long-term empowerment, including vocational training and job placement services aimed at fostering resilience and self-sufficiency.
Medical and Mental Health Care
Our commitment to holistic well-being is evidenced by our expanded support for medical organizations. In addition to our existing services, we are now explicitly providing support for soldiers and survivors of terrorist attacks suffering from PTSD, complex grief, and trauma. This comprehensive approach ensures that no one is left behind in their journey towards healing and recovery.
Educational Empowerment
Education is a beacon of hope and a tool for future success. We are proud to continue our interest-free loan program, a testament to our belief in recycling generosity to benefit numerous students. Furthermore, we are now offering scholarships to soldiers and reservists of the IDF combat units, supporting their academic aspirations post-service.
Supporting Our Security Forces
Recognizing the sacrifices made by our security forces, we are dedicated to addressing their immediate needs and challenges. This includes providing comprehensive support for disabled war veterans, ensuring they receive the care and resources necessary for their dignity and well-being. While we may not directly mention all the groups we support, our commitment to these heroes remains unwavering.
